Our comprehensive review and analysis process reviews the overall
energy consumption of metered utilities, utility billing, and
consumption histories to identify opportunities for reducing energy
consumption and cost. We will accomplish this objective through the
strategy detailed below.
Survey - We will survey church facilities to identify all
relevant energy consuming loads. In addition, we will organize utility
billing data to identify your operating costs. This will include the
following:
- Conduct "walk-through" audit to identify loads such as:
- Lighting - interior & exterior
- HVAC - A/C, chillers, boilers, furnaces & ventilation motors
- Elevators and other motor load
- Kitchen equipment
- Energy management systems
- Organize utility billing and consumption data including:
- Electric (kWh, kW, cost, interval data)
- Natural Gas (therms & cost) (propane or fuel oil gallons & cost if used)
- Water and Sewer (gallons & cost)
To conduct this survey we would need the church’s assistance with the following items:
- Assistance with a "walk-through" audit of the facilities.
- Information on operating characteristics (i.e. hours open, uses).
- Copies of all relevant utility billings and interval data.
- Copies of contracts with utility companies for special rates.
Analysis - From the information obtained in the survey phase, we
will organize and analyze the church’s energy load and billing data to
identify savings opportunities through recommended cost saving
measures, changes in utility rates or fuel suppliers.
- Analyze energy consuming loads in the facilities:
- Prepare energy use estimate and summary for all major loads
- Prepare graphic representation of above information
- Draw conclusions about load operation
- Recommend consumption and cost reducing strategies
- Analyze utility billing and consumption information:
- Review
billing determinants; usage, peak demand, billing demand, bill amount
and other factors that we would compute such as load factor, cost and
usage per comparison unit (i.e. square foot); for each monthly bill.
- Identify billing irregularities.
- Recommend alternate utility rate schedules, if beneficial.
Report - To conclude the process, we will prepare a final report that summarizes the information gathered and recommends beneficial strategies to each individual church. This report will include the following:
- Narrative summary of findings and recommendations that would result in beneficial cost savings.
- All calculations considered in the cost benefit analysis of recommendations.
- Estimate of the contribution of the major loads to overall energy consumption.
- Organized energy use and billing information.
- Copies of utility rate schedules used.
